Take the small step together

Small Steps LLC- Locally owned small business

How we got started

The Small Steps Story

Kaylyn Weber began serving the neurodivergent community in 2015, and went on to acquire her Masters of Science in Educational Psychology. Kaylyn found her passion helping children unlock communication, grow their social skills and relationships, and ultimately access the goals and desires they were not able to in the past. After working side by side with strong, locally owned ABA Clinics, Kaylyn started Small Steps to reach caregivers in the home setting and ultimately serve the community in a more direct way.

Small Steps as a company was started in 2024 with a single mission. Serve the military and wider community with compassionate, neurodivergent ABA services. Small Steps focuses on helping young learners build communication skills, develop social skills and relationships with peers, and learn crucial coping skills. Working on these skills in the home setting mean that the caregiver and the ABA professional can work side by side, collaborating in and providing a safe learning space for the child.

Is ABA right for my child?

ABA can be a powerful therapy that teaches many important skills in a child’s life. During our initial meeting and initial assessment, we will have extensive conversation, observation, and assessment to determine if ABA is right for your child.

How is ABA different than Speech or Occupational Therapy

ABA is primarily focused on teaching children how to learn new behaviors to improve their quality of life. Sometimes, that can look like language therapy or even incorporate sensory integration therapy. Ultimately, a great ABA program is designed collaboratively with other professionals. Small Steps encourages a multidisciplinary approach, meaning collaboration with all other support persons on the child’s team.
